Things to do near our Dorset cabins
Dorset
Everything we love about Dorset and the hills around Plush, and our pick of things to do near the cabins. The walks, places and pubs we'd go to if we were staying here ourselves.
Your own SEEK guide, sent before you arrive, has the details for each place and how to get there from your cabin.
Walks
Cerne Abbas Loop
A 9.4 mile walk from your door over the hills to the Giant, with lunch at the Royal Oak halfway round.
Dorset Gap
A beautiful spot where the countryside opens out across the hills. Head out for a walk and take in the views across the Dorset landscape.
Pubs
The Brace of Pheasants
A proper Dorset country pub in the heart of the countryside. Settle in for a good lunch, a local pint and the kind of food that makes a long walk worthwhile.
The Thimble Inn, Piddlehinton
An old pub with low ceilings and really good food. It's a lovely walk along the hilltops from the cabin.
Gaggle of Geese, Buckland Newton
A great Sunday roast and an old skittle alley. Walk across the fields from your door, or it's 5 minutes in the car.
The New Inn, Cerne Abbas
A characterful village pub in one of Dorset's prettiest villages. Stop for a drink or something to eat after exploring Cerne Abbas and the surrounding countryside.
Coffee, food & drink
Cerne Abbas Brewery
Local ales brewed at the foot of the giant. Take some back to the cabin for an evening by the firepit.
Days out
Cerne Abbas Giant
One of Dorset's most famous landmarks, carved into the chalk hillside above the village. Worth the stop, and even better when you walk up for the view.
Lulworth Cove
One of the jewels of the Jurassic Coast. Explore the famous horseshoe-shaped cove, then follow the coastal paths for some of the best scenery in Dorset.
Durdle Door
The famous rock arch on the Jurassic Coast, just along from Lulworth. Walk the clifftop path between the two.
Corfe Castle
Norman ruins in a gap in the Purbeck Hills. Walk the ridge above the castle for the best view of it.
Hardy's Cottage
Thomas Hardy's birthplace, hidden in the woods near Dorchester. The woodland trails around it make a lovely short walk.
